Rape/Rape bid
One 41-year-old woman lodged a complaint that on July 19, around 8.30 pm, one Lowis Mukhim (50) raped her in a village in West Jaiñtia Hills. Later, the complainant found that Rs. 2,000 was also missing from her bag.
One 44-year-old woman lodged a complaint that on July 19 around 9 pm, three persons, viz. Chenang Momin (26), (2) Walsim Shira (27) and Pote Marak (33), attempted to rape and murder her and also threatened her 21-year-old son with dire consequences in East Garo Hills.
Theft
Nathan Richmon Tariang lodged a complaint that on July 23 around 4.41 am, unknown miscreant(s) stole 11 pots of orchid flowers from his residential compound at Upper Mawprem, Shillong.
Myrank Thangkhiew lodged a complaint that on July 23, unknown miscreant(s) stole four common headers (Water Distribution Points), valued around Rs. 30,000, from Nongkseh Block-10, Upper Shillong.
Shyem Warhen Pale lodged a complaint that on July 7, unknown miscreant(s) stole Remote Radio Unit (RRU) from a tower at Windi Sohphoh, Umpling Dongshaneng, EKH.
Tengban Ch Sangma lodged a complaint that on July 8, it was found that two Remote Radio Units (RRUs), valued around Rs. 2.28 lakh, were missing from a tower at Upper Wadanang, Tura, WGH.
Break-in
DD Syiem lodged a complaint that unknown miscreant(s) broke into the main building of St. Peter’s School, Shillong, damaged the backdoor and skylight, utilised several rooms for consuming drugs and also stole various articles from the school building.
Duped
A female resident of a locality in East Garo Hills and eight others jointly lodged a complaint that two persons, viz. Arun Lama Sangma and Bernadeth T Sangma convinced them to invest in one app ‘Datameer AI’ (using profile picture of former CEO of Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Ltd., as their leader) with a promise of high returns. Later, the complainants realised that they have been cheated of Rs. 3,98,300.
A female resident of a locality in North Garo Hills lodged a complaint against one Aron Sangma and his wife, viz. B Sangma for convincing her to invest in one App ‘Datameer’ with a promise of high returns. However, no amount was credited into her account.
Impersonation
Asst. EE, Tura East Distribution, Sub Divisional MePDCL, lodged a complaint against one person for impersonating himself as a Meter Reader of MePDCL and for collecting money from areas under Tura, WGH.
