ASHA workers and facilitators from EJH receive electronic tablets

KHLIEHRIAT, Sep 7: Sutnga-Saipung MLA, Santa Mary Shylla, on Friday distributed electronic tablets among ASHA workers and ASHA facilitators from East Jaintia Hills district, in recognition of their contributions to the district’s healthcare sector.
A programme was held in this regard at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, which was attended by EJH DC Shivansh Awasthi, Additional DC JU Kharpuri, DM&HO Dr. D Shylla, and other health officials.
In her address, Shylla applauded their tireless efforts in promoting public health and well-being.
Speaking about the state government’s initiative to equip ASHAs with electronic tablets to streamline data collection and reporting, the MLA highlighted the vital role ASHAs play in supporting women during the childbearing period.
Whilst referring to the Chief Minister’s Safe Motherhood Scheme (CM-SMS) scheme, she encouraged the ASHAs to educate their communities about the importance of health and the benefits of institutional delivery.
