Adoption process
The East Khasi Hills District Magistrate has informed and reminded all the residents of the district about the mandatory procedure for adoption as per the Adoption Regulation, 2022. “According to the regulation, all adoption must be processed through the District Magistrate, the Specialized Adoption Agencies and the District Child Protection Officer (DCPO),” a statement in this regard said. Informing that any adoption carried out without obtaining an official Adoption Order from the district magistrate as per the Adoption Regulation, 2022, will be considered illegal and void, the statement has asked all concerned to seek further information or assistance regarding the adoption process from the Office of the District Magistrate and the District Child Protection Officer.
