Sensitisation on HPV vax at city school

SHILLONG, Sep 22: The Rotary Club Shillong Heritage organised an awareness programme on Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) in collaboration with the Indian Academy of Paediatrics Meghalaya state branch at St. Margaret’s Higher Secondary School on September 19.
The event aimed to educate students about the importance of vaccination and prevention of HPV, a virus that can affect different parts of the body.
The speakers were Dr Santanu Deb, vice president of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics, Dr Sabrina Yesmin, Paediatrician, and Dr Indrani Roy, Obstetrician and Gynaecologist of Nazareth Hospital, Shillong. The programme attracted an impressive attendance of 950 students and teachers.
