Tearaway pacer Mayank Yadav, who recorded his fastest delivery at 156.7 km/h during the IPL 2024 match against RCB, has been selected

Mumbai, Sep 29: The National Selection Committee has given an opportunity to young tearaway pacer Mayank Yadav of Uttar Pradesh for the T20 International series against Bangladesh.
Mayank Yadav, the Indian Premier League sensation, was out of the IPL midway with an injury.
“The Men’s Selection Committee has picked India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming IDFC FIRST Bank T20I series against Bangladesh. After the completion of the Test series, India will play three T20Is at Gwalior, New Delhi and Hyderabad,” the BCCI informed in a release on Saturday.
The squad will be led by Suryakumar Yadav and includes all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who has earlier led the country in T20Is. Jasprit Bumrah, who was the star of the team in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, has not been included in the squad as India are scheduled to play a Test series against New Zealand soon after the Bangladesh series. On the other hand,
In a significant development for Bangladesh cricket, young spinner Rakibul Hasan has received his first call-up to the national T20 team ahead of the upcoming series against India.
Rakibul, who was part of the victorious under-19 World Cup team in 2020, brings fresh talent to the squad. His inclusion marks a pivotal moment in his career, showcasing the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) commitment to nurturing young talent.
Alongside Rakibul, another exciting addition is Parvez Hossain Emon, another member of the under-19 World Cup-winning squad, who is set to make his return to the T20 lineup. However, veteran opener Soumya Sarkar has been left out of the squad, indicating a shift in strategy as the team looks to build for the future.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the squad on Sunday evening, confirming the participation of experienced Mahmudullah Riyad, who remains a crucial part of the team’s batting order. Also making a comeback is all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz, adding depth to both the batting and bowling departments. This series will be particularly notable as it will be the Tigers’ first T20 outing since Shakib Al Hasan announced his retirement from the format.
Under the captaincy of Najmul Hossain Shanto, the team boasts a solid pace attack featuring Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib. The spin department will be in the capable hands of Rakibul, Miraz, Mahedi Hasan, and Rishad Hossain.
The batting unit is well-rounded, with Shanto and Mahmudullah leading the charge, supported by Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Towhid Hridoy, Litton Das, Jaker Ali, and Parvez Hossain Emon.
The upcoming T20I series between India and Bangladesh promises to be an exciting contest, with both teams bringing fresh faces and experienced campaigners to the field.
Mayank Yadav’s inclusion marks a significant opportunity for the young speedster to showcase his talent at the international level, while Bangladesh’s young duo, Rakibul Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon, signal a new era for their national side. (IANS)
