Curbs revoked
East Khasi Hills District Magistrate RM Kurbah revoked the restrictions imposed on vehicles plying on two bridges in Balat area of the district that are in a weakened state. The bridges in question are Bridge No. 5/5 (Umpung Bridge) on the Balat-Bagli road and Timber Bridge No. 74/1 over the Dakni river at Balat, located on the Mawphlang-Balat road.

New body formed
The Muslim community of Garikhana along with Shillong’s general public belonging to the Muslim community has formed the New Garikhana Masjid Managing Committee on October 8, with Dilawar Swer as president, Md Muzzammil Ali as vice president, Md Moshin R Qureshi as general secretary, Md Imdad Bari Marbaniang as assistant secretary, Haji Md Aquil as treasurer and six executive members.
