32 artists attend NIFT workshop

SHILLONG, Oct 16: As many as 32 participants from different parts of the country including 11 artists from Meghalaya attended a one-day workshop organised by National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Shillong, in collaboration with Positive Energy Art Foundation and the Earth Art Gallery.
Senior artists such as Dr Prakash Kishore, Raphael Warjri, Dr Benedict Skhemlang Hynniewta, P Kharlukhi, Dipankar Sinha, Niladri Ghosh, Goutam Das, Dhiren Shasmal and Alok Talukdar were part of the camp.
The artists gave a live demonstration of the painting where students also participated and learned various techniques during the interaction. The student-artist collaboration generated several new ideas which were executed through paintings during the camp.
An exhibition also took place during the workshop where the Artists Exhibited their paintings and interacted with the students explaining their Artworks.
The art workshop was organised under the guidance of the Director of NIFT, Shillong, Shankar Kumar Jha.
