SHILLONG, Oct 25: The National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) on Friday clarified that the proposal of the Meghalaya government to extend the overpass/flyover from the proposed Anjalee Junction to Barik has been approved by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).
The ministry has sought active support of the state government if the flyover is to be extended to Barik Junction, an NHIDCL official said.
Informing that the state government’s proposal for extending the flyover to Barik was discussed during a recently-held review meeting in Delhi where the chief minister and the deputy chief minister were also present, the official said although the proposal has been accepted, it requires acquisition of defence land in the heavily-congested area.
