MCA makes changes to U-23 men’s squad

Shillong, Oct 25: The senior men’s selection committee of the Meghalaya Cricket Association has issued a revised list of 15 players available for consideration for the third U-23 men’s Col CK Nayudu Trophy 2024-25 match against Himachal Pradesh.
The multi-day match will begin on October 27 and be hosted by the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association in Nadaun.
The changes to the squad see Banialam Mylliemngap and Thunun Marak included in place of Navin Kumar and Sachin Kumar.
Meghalaya were promoted from to the elite level after finishing second in the Plate Group to Nagaland in 2023-24. Meghalaya had won all six matches on their way to the title match but could not beat hosts Nagaland in the final.
This season, Meghalaya have so far lost their opening two matches, by an innings and 129 runs against Punjab and by an innings and 93 runs to Andhra Pradesh.
Kevin Christopher struck a half-century in each match, while Swastic Chettri fell just short with 49 against Andhra. Abhishek Kumar has been Meghalaya’s most successful bowler so far with five wickets, including 4/71 against Punjab.
Himachal were on the verge of defeat but managed to draw their first match against Rajasthan before losing to Vidarbha by seven wickets.
