JOWAI, Oct 30: The NSS Unit of Don Bosco College Byndihati, East Jaintia Hills, organised a hospital volunteering drive at Khliehriat Civil Hospital on Tuesday.
Organised as part of the nationwide ‘Diwali with My Bharat’ initiative, the event focused on promoting youth involvement in community service and honouring the efforts of healthcare professionals.
Supervised by Matron Bernitha A. Sangma and Dr. STS Momin, the volunteers engaged in cleaning the hospital, assisting patients and supporting staff with logistical tasks.
This hands-on participation also gave students valuable insights into the daily challenges healthcare workers face.
During the drive, Sangma highlighted the significance of the initiative.
“This event offers our students a chance to appreciate the dedication of our healthcare staff. The support from young volunteers fosters empathy and responsibility,” Sangma said.
