Waiting shed for students of school in Umsning

NONGPOH, Nov 11: A waiting shed for schoolchildren of Myngken Christian Higher Secondary School, located in Umsning block of Ri-Bhoi, was on Monday inaugurated by the Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) North Khasi Hills District.
The FKJGP said that the waiting shed will allow the parents to rest while waiting for their children.
The waiting shed was formally inaugurated by vice president of FKJGP central body, Kitboklang Nongphlang, in the presence of president of FKJGP North Khasi Hills District, Luistar Lyngdoh, Principal of Myngken Christian Higher Secondary School, Everlasting Pyngrope, general secretary of FKJGP North Khasi Hills District, Shanlang Diengdoh, besides local leaders from Lumsohpieng village, schoolchildren and others.
In his speech, FKJGP central body vice president Kitboklang Nongphlang said the FKJGP’s motivation in creating such waiting sheds is to support local communities and the entire ethnic group.
He expressed hope that through contributions like this, even if modest, they would provide ongoing benefits to users in the future.
He also expressed confidence that the three schools in the village would continue to produce future leaders and service-oriented individuals who would contribute to the community, just as Myngken Christian Higher Secondary School has brought pride to the state and community in sports and other achievements.
