Govt reviews preparations for upcoming 6th M’laya Games

SHILLONG, Nov 18: The Meghalaya government on Monday reviewed preparations for the upcoming 6th Meghalaya Games, scheduled to be held in Jaintia Hills from January 20 to 25 next.
Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar chaired the review meeting, which was attended by officers, sports consultants, and other stakeholders.
During the meeting, the Sports department presented an update on the ongoing preparations. It was informed that the Organising Committee (OC) and other subcommittees have been constituted and duly notified.
Accommodation arrangements have been made for 3,825 athletes and 450 technical officials. Preparations are also under way to enhance the venues, which will host competitions in 25 sports disciplines and four demonstration sports.
