SHILLONG, Nov 18: A unique youth exchange programme is going to be organised between Meghalaya and Kerala giving an opportunity to the youths of both states to experience the rich cultural tapestry of the two faraway states, understand the local ethos and create a bond of friendship.
Organised jointly by Rotary Club of Shillong and Rotary Club of Kochi East, the programme envisions a 10-day tour of Kerala by a team of five handpicked youths to serve as cultural ambassadors of Meghalaya, beginning January 9 next.
During their tour of Kerala, the local team will get free air passage and home hospitality with members of Rotary Club there. They will visit places of interest and interact with various sections.
A similar team will come on a return visit to Shillong in early April next year.
Students who are between 18 and 25 years of age, male or female, residents of Meghalaya, and are well conversant with local culture and ethos, possess good communication skills, fluent in English, and backed up with an outgoing personality, may apply. Those having musical skills will be an added qualification.
Apply online on https://forms.gle/tQPAz386iF8kVNU66 within November 26.
A personality test will be conducted for the shortlisted candidates on December 2, 2024, for which due notice will be sent via email.
