Perth, Nov 20: As Team India gears up for the highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25, vice-captain and premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah has shared the team’s strategy for success.
With India entering the series on the back of two consecutive victorious tours of Australia, expectations are at an all-time high.Despite the pressure, Bumrah revealed that the team’s mantra is simple: unwavering self-belief.
In an interview with 7Cricket, Bumrah emphasized the importance of confidence and preparation in overcoming challenges, especially in demanding conditions like those in Australia. “Self-belief matters the most in any condition. That is what we are banking on, and that is the conversation we are having in our team. When you focus on yourself and your preparation, it puts you in a great position, and everything else will take care of itself,” said Bumrah. Bumrah is likely to lead India in the first Test at Perth in the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma, who is unavailable for personal reasons.
This leadership role adds another dimension to Bumrah’s responsibilities, but the pacer is no stranger to the challenges of Australian pitches. (Agencies)
