Govt invites bids for skywalk at Mawkdok

SHILLONG, Nov 22: The state government has initiated an open competitive bidding for the construction of a Rs 50.09-crore skywalk and tourist hub at Dympep village in Mawkdok.
DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had recently announced the construction of the skywalk in Mawkdok.
The government has also invited proposals for development, operation and maintenance of luxury cottages at Umiam in Ri-Bhoi under the design, build, finance, operate and transfer mode on public private partnership.
Around 100 cottages will be built in a 15-acre plot of land at an estimated cost of Rs 35 crore.
A separate tender has been floated for construction of 50 such cottages in Nongmahir area at a cost of Rs 14 crore.
In addition, the government also intends to construct 50 cottages in Sohra with a budget of Rs 17 crore.
