Meghalaya Gymnastics Association elects new office-bearers

Shillong, Nov 27: The Meghalaya Gymnastics Association (MGA) held its Annual General Meeting on November 23, 2024, at the Arts and Culture Seminar Hall, State Central Library, Shillong. Presided over by its President,Francis Marwein, the meeting reviewed the association’s significant milestones and outlined future plans.
During the meeting, the association highlighted the achievements of its gymnasts over the years. Seven promising gymnasts were sent to a Coaching Camp organized by the Manipur Gymnastics Association in January 2020.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, MGA’s athletes continued to shine in virtual competitions throughout 2021.
The meeting concluded with the unanimous election of new office bearers for a three-year term (2024-2027), including Francis Marwein as President, Jibonsing R. Marak as Working President, Filing A. Thangkhiew as Vice President, Lucy M. Malngiang as General Secretary, Plishanri Lyngdoh and Idaline Malngiang as Joint Secretaries, Natalie Nongrum as Treasurer, and Francis A. Khongwar as Publicity Secretary, along with Executive Members Ridahunlin Lyndem, Joseph Pasi, Conniefer Kharchandy, Wanmishisha Kharpan, Nidawanbiang Pasi, and Indarishisha Dkhar.
The MGA reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing gymnastics talent in Meghalaya, emphasizing structured training and competitive exposure for its athletes.
