SHILLONG, Nov 27: Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Speaker Thomas Sangma has emphasised the need for caution in the construction of the new Assembly building at New Shillong Township to prevent any further structural failures.
“We don’t want any more roofs to fall down, so we are being careful and taking it slow,” Sangma said when addressing concerns about delays in completing the project.
The Speaker explained that changes in the building’s design are being implemented to ensure the construction proceeds without issues.
It may be mentioned that the High Powered Committee will visit the site on December 4 to assess the project.
