APSC declares CCE-2023 results; seven women in top 10 list

Guwahati, Dec 5: The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has declared the results of the Combined Competitive Examination, 2023, recommending 235 candidates for appointment in Assam Civil Service (ACS), Assam Police Service (APS) and Allied Services.

Notably, out of the first ten candidates, seven are women, an official statement said.

Chiranjeev Phukan, who topped the examination with 872 marks, is a first-class B.Tech degree holder from NIT, Silchar, while Anisha Buragohain, a postgraduate from London School of Economics and Political Science, topped the list among the women candidates, securing 823 marks.

Himandri Jita Bora, a JRF scholar and postgraduate from JNU, Delhi, secured the third position while Mrigakhi Baruah, a postgraduate from Delhi University secured the fourth position. Tutumani Kakati of Muguria, Bajali secured the fifth position.

Among the other toppers within the first ten are Mridusmita Ray of Goalpara, Mary Kalita of Bongaigaon, Diksha Sarkar from Sribhumi, Nilam Garg from Lakhimpur and Ankita Chettri from West Karbi Anglong district.

The entire process, starting from preliminary examination in March 2024, has been completed in a record time of about eight months.

More than 67,251 candidates had applied for the examination, which has been regularly conducted during the past few years.

It is worth mentioning that for the first time posts have been reserved for Moran and Matak communities.

Out of 235 candidates, 45 candidates for ACS, 35 candidates for APS, 107 candidates for Assam Accounts Service, 11 candidates for Inspecting Auditor, one candidate for Superintendent of Taxes, one candidate for Superintendent of Excise, 13 candidates for Assam Finance Service, six posts for Block Development Officer, four posts of Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies, four posts of Inspector of Taxes, four posts of Inspector of Labour, one post of Assistant Employment Officer and three posts of Sub Registrar have been recommended to the government by the Commission.
