JOWAI, Dec 5: In a bid to tackle the rising cases of bike theft, West Jaintia Hills Police have intensified their operations across the district, deploying teams at strategic locations to monitor suspicious activities. The ongoing operation has yielded significant results, with six stolen bikes recovered within the past week.
On Thursday morning, two stolen motorcycles were intercepted in Muktapur and Amlarem areas. However, the riders managed to evade apprehension by fleeing into the surrounding jungle under the cover of darkness.
Despite this setback, the operation is gaining momentum, with authorities determined to track down those responsible and bring them to justice.
The police have also pledged to sustain their efforts with increased intensity and have called on the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
