Cong names Rocky Marwein as KHADC candidate for Umsning

NONGPOH, Dec 8: The Congress, through the Umsning Block Congress Committee (UBCC), has officially announced Rocky A. Marwein as its candidate for the upcoming elections to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) from Umsning constituency. The announcement was made during a meeting held at the Umsning Auditorium on Saturday.
The meeting, organised by the UBCC, was attended by prominent Congress leaders, including SW Rymbai, District Observer of the Congress Party, MG Kharshanlor, president of Ri-Bhoi District Congress Committee and several other leaders. Hundreds of supporters from across the constituency also participated.
In his address, Marwein expressed gratitude to the Congress Party for entrusting him with the ticket to contest the upcoming MDC elections. He expressed confidence in his chances of victory, citing the overwhelming public support evident during the gathering.
Marwein, along with other party leaders who spoke at the event, underscored their commitment to securing the trust and support of the people of Umsning.
They reiterated the Congress party’s dedication to addressing public concerns and working tirelessly for the betterment of the constituency, aiming for a resounding victory in the elections.
