SHILLONG, Dec 8: The Children and Youth Evangelistic Association (CYEA), in a joint initiative with Bob Jones University (BJU), has inaugurated a contact centre at its campus in Upper Nongrim Hills, Shillong.
The programme, held on Saturday, was attended by Christian leaders, including pastors and school principals. The primary objective of this initiative is to assist students from India and South East Asia.
The Centre was officially dedicated by Rev Dr Revan F. Kharkrang, a founding member of the CYEA.
Principal Secretary Sampath Kumar, who was part of the programme, underscored the importance of establishing a Christian Liberal Arts University and how it could significantly benefit the youths of Meghalaya.
On the other hand, Dr Matthew Weathers of Bob Jones University, through a video message, emphasised the value of the education partnership with CYEA and the crucial role the contact centre would play in its future endeavours.
Bob Jones University, founded in 1927, is a Christian Liberal Arts institution located in Greenville, South Carolina, US. For the first time in its 98-year history, the university is expanding its presence beyond the US through this collaboration.
By partnering with CYEA, BJU aims to connect with the Indian community by providing access to world-class education and research opportunities.
The contact centre will offer hassle-free assistance to students seeking admission to BJU, enabling them to pursue education at a renowned Christian university abroad.
