JOWAI, Dec 13: The Hynñiewtrep Integrated Territorial Organisation (HITO) Jowai Circle has reiterated its demand for swift action on the unresolved boundary issues of Jowai town.
The organisation recently submitted a memorandum to the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) and held discussions with MDC and Council Chairman, A. Shadap, to address the matter. HITO president Owansaki Pasweth highlighted that despite the JHADC’s communication, the boundary demarcation remains incomplete.
He attributed the delay to some Dorbar Shnong failing to approach the JHADC, while others claim it is not their responsibility to do so.
In response, the HITO urged the JHADC to issue a formal order or impose a deadline to ensure the boundary demarcation process moves forward without further delays.
The union also stressed that the Union of Waheh Shnongs should aid rather than obstruct the work of the villages.
