JOWAI, Dec 21: Lamyrsiang SC emerged as champions of the Super Division football tournament organized by the Saipung Block Sports Association (SBSA) after defeating Pyrdung SC 4-2 in a thrilling penalty shootout.
The intense final, held on Friday, showcased a fierce battle between two determined sides vying for the coveted title.
Pyrdung SC struck first in the 9th minute when Phrangsngi Pakma netted a superb goal to give his team an early lead.
Lamyrsiang SC struggled to breach Pyrdung’s resolute defense until the dying moments of the match.
In a dramatic turn of events, Jefferson Surong scored in the 90th minute, equalizing the score and sending the game into extra time.
