Unclaimed body
Police have informed that one Shibu Prasad (69) of Shelter Home Shillong Municipal Board was admitted to Civil Hospital, Shillong, on December 21. He, however, passed away on December 22 evening, the police said in a statement. The cadaver has been kept at the hospital morgue for identification and claim. The deceased was 5 feet 3 inches tall, black-haired, dark-complexioned and had an oval shaped face. Police have asked his relatives/friends to identify the deceased at the hospital and claim the body.
Clarification
Apropos of the news item that appeared in The Shillong Times (December 24, 2024) under the heading ‘Lambor Malngiang to contest polls as independent candidate’, it is clarified that the Voice of People Party is the only party to have announced its candidate for the Nongkrem constituency, naming Kitbor Syiem. The inadvertent error is regretted.
