Guv stresses importance of financial awareness

SHILLONG, Feb 7: Meghalaya Governor CH Vijayashankar has underscored the importance of financial awareness, savings and fraud prevention in ensuring long-term economic security.
Speaking at a seminar on Smart Financial Planning, Savings and Fraud Prevention at Raj Bhavan, Shillong, on Friday, he emphasised the need for proactive financial planning, particularly in the face of rising digital financial threats.
The seminar, attended by financial experts, professionals and stakeholders, featured technical sessions on key financial topics.
During the seminar, CA Abhijeet Kolapkar led two sessions—Where to Save, Invest, Get Insured & Maintain Financial Health and Smart Financial Planning for Worry-Free Retirement.
On the other hand, CA Shivam Palan conducted a session on ‘How to Avoid Financial Frauds’, equipping attendees with practical knowledge on safeguarding their finances.
Organised in collaboration with ICAI, the seminar aimed to promote financial prudence and responsible economic decision-making among Raj Bhavan employees.
