SHILLONG, Feb 12: The upgraded Gynaecology Female Ward at Dr H Gordon Robert’s Hospital (formerly known as Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Hospital) was officially inaugurated by Michael Khasyntiew, trustee of KTIEWEMSTRUST London.
The renovation project, funded by a donation of approximately Rs 21 lakh, aims to provide modern medical treatment and affordable healthcare to women, particularly those from economically weaker sections of society. The project took over six months to complete, revitalising one of the hospital’s oldest wards. Dr H Gordon Robert’s Hospital, a 103-year-old institution, has long been a cornerstone of healthcare in the region.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by chairman of the hospital’s governing body, Rev SS Majaw, along with Medical Superintendent Dr Nongrum, senior doctors, and nurses.
