Man urinating on roadside killed after being hit by a car
HATHRAS, (UP) Feb 25: A man was killed after being hit by a car while he was urinating on the roadside in UP’s Hathras district on Tuesday morning, police said.The accident took place around 6 AM when a vehicle carrying six passengers was returning from the Maha Kumbh.According to the police, Ankit, a resident of Azadpur in Delhi, was travelling back with his family after taking a holy dip, their car went out of control and veered off the road.Mukesh (34), who was at the roadside, was hit by the vehicle and died on the spot.All six occupants of the car sustained injuries. The police arrived at the scene and rushed them to a community health center for treatment and after receiving medical aid, they proceeded to Delhi. (PTI)
Neighbour kills woman after altercation
KAUSHAMBI, (UP) Feb 25: A 52-year-old woman was killed after a neighbour struck her head with a brick following an altercation in UP’s Kaushambi on Tuesday.Kailasiya Devi Patel, had an ongoing dispute with her neighbour Aman Patel.On Tuesday morning, an argument broke out between the two. As things flared up, Aman hit Kailasiya on the head with a brick, leaving her critically injured, and fled from the spot. The police rushed Kailasiya to the community health centre, where the doctors declared her dead. (PTI)
Two women caught while dumping body into river
KOLKATA, Feb25: Two women were caught in north Kolkata’s Ahiritola on Tuesday while allegedly dumping human body parts into the Hooghly river in a suitcase, police said.These two women, who arrived at the Ahiritola Ghat in a taxi, were caught by locals when they were dumping the blue suitcase, they said.“The women claimed that the bag contained the corpse of their dog but we found a human body in it. We immediately informed the police,” one of the locals said.Police said they were questioning the two women, and sent the body parts for post-mortem examination. “We are questioning them. We are also talking to the locals who spotted them while they attempted to throw the trolley bag into the river,” a police officer said. A local train ticket was found with the two women. Police, meanwhile, faced protests when they went to the area, with locals demanding increased security. (PTI)
