Man, daughter found hanging in Kolkata shop
KOLKATA, March 1: Bodies of a businessman and his 22-year-old daughter were found hanging inside his shop in south Kolkata’s Behala area, police said on Saturday.The businessman had been suffering from mental distress for a long time. His daughter was also undergoing treatment for mental and physical health issues.Police said the man had left home around 1 pm, saying he would take his daughter to the doctor. When they did not return even after several hours, his wife grew anxious and started searching for them, police said.Their bodies were found in the man’s shop that deals in kitchen chimney and water purifier late in the evening of Friday.Police said it appears that the man killed his daughter before taking his own life due to depression. Tamil Nadu House in Delhi receives hoax bomb threat
NEW DELHI, March 1: The Tamil Nadu House in New Delhi’s Chanakyapuri area received a bomb threat on Saturday morning.However, police denied any threat being received at the Tamil Nadu house.According to the DFS, a call was received at 10:30 am about a bomb threat being made to the Tamil Nadu house. However, it turned out to be a hoax.A fire tender along with senior officers was rushed to the house, he said. The premises were evacuated and thoroughly searched. (PTI)
Bus crashes into stationary truck; 4 dead
AGRA, March 1: Four persons died and 19 others were injured after a Varanasi-Jaipur bus rammed into a stationary truck on the on Saturday morning.According to police, the bus crashed into the truck from behind.The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination. One of the deceased persons is yet to be identified. All the injured have been sent to the hospital with the help of an ambulance, police said. (PTI)
2 youths booked for repeatedly raping teenage girl in MP
TIKAMGARH, (MP) March 1: Two persons were booked on Saturday in Tikamgarh in MP for allegedly raping a 15-year–old girl repeatedly and threatening to circulate her objectionable photographs if she complained to anyone, a police official said.As per the complaint, the girl was raped at a hotel on Haveli Road a year ago. “Accused Rohit Sahu and Vishal Sahu, in the 20-22 age group, threatened to release her photos on social media and sexually assaulted her several times. The girl informed her family today, following which the two were booked. (PTI)
