Celebration
The Meteorological Centre, Shillong, has invited the public to celebrate World Meteorological Day on March 24 (Monday) with a special Open House event, dedicating the day to raise awareness about the critical role that weather, climate, and water play in safeguarding lives and livelihoods, and promoting the importance of early warning systems to reduce risks. The theme for this year’s World Meteorological Day is “Closing the Early Warning Gap Together”, which highlights the importance of strengthening early warning systems to protect communities from natural disasters and to improve resilience to the changing climate.
Craft Bazaar
The Craft Bazaar, a flagship event of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) which aims at promoting and preserving the traditional crafts of India, will be held on March 25 and 26 at Anton Hall, Don Bosco, Shillong. This year’s event will focus on the unique crafting skills of the Northeast, featuring artisans from across the region.
