Rs 6 cr sanctioned for smartphones for anganwadi workers

SHILLONG, March 28: The Centre has sanctioned over Rs 6 crore for the purchase of smartphones to be used by the Anganwadi workers to improve their performance and services to the people.
Social Welfare Minister Paul Lyngdoh informed that an amount of over Rs 6 crore has been sanctioned by the Ministry of Women and Child Development for the purchase of 6162 smartphones. Each set costs over Rs 10000 and will be distributed to the workers by the end of April.
