Futsal tourney kicks off in Nongmensong

Shillong, March 29: William Carey University Football Club (WCUFC) launched its first-ever Futsal Knockout Tournament at GR Turf, Nongmensong, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of students, sports enthusiasts, and dignitaries.
The tournament features 32 teams from across Meghalaya, setting the stage for intense, fast-paced action. Beyond competition, the event aims to promote sportsmanship, skill development, and youth empowerment through football.
William Carey University continues to champion the integration of sports and education, fostering a platform for aspiring athletes to showcase their talent.
As the tournament progresses, WCUFC hopes to establish this event as an annual fixture, further strengthening Meghalaya’s futsal culture. With young talents getting a platform to shine, the initiative not only promotes competitive spirit but also reinforces the university’s commitment to holistic education through sports.
