TURA, April 19: With an aim to encourage students to engage deeply with the principles of community science and explore the transformative potential of inclusivity, the Placement Cell of the College of Community Science, Central Agricultural University (CAU), Tura, organised an interactive session Thursday.
Thematised on ‘Shaping the Future Through Inclusive Development’, the event was attended by two eminent figures from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, viz. Prof. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Deputy Director General, and Prof. VB Patel, Assistant Director General.
Addressing students and faculty, both speakers emphasised the pivotal role of community science in promoting inclusive growth, rural development and the empowerment of marginalised communities.
On the other hand, Dr. Jyoti V. Vastrad, Dean of the College, warmly welcomed the dignitaries and reiterated the institution’s commitment to community-centric education, research and outreach. She spoke about the importance of inclusive development in the context of contemporary dynamic socio-economic challenges, aligning it with the core philosophy of Community Science.
The session provided students with the opportunity to directly interact with the guests, gaining valuable insights into emerging trends, evolving policy frameworks, and promising career opportunities in the field.
Faculty members also participated in discussions on how research and education in community science can bolster inclusive policies and impact lives at the grassroots level.
