Mendipathar, April 23: A workshop on exam stress was held in the town of Mendipathar on Monday in collaboration with the National Commission on Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) in collaboration with the District School Education Office (DSEO) North Garo Hills (NGH).
The programme was aptly called ‘Pariksha Parv’ and aligns with the PM, Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ and looked to discuss matters relating to stress in exams that students face every year that sometimes leads to children taking extreme steps.
The meeting started with an introductory speech given by Welfare G Momin, SDSEO in-charge of the district. More than 250 participants took part in the program, including members of various School Managing Committees (SMC), head of the schools as well as parents were part of the program. The main aim of the program was to minimize exam stress and mitigate exam stress.
During the session, different issues related to exam stress were discussed.
The programme was conducted by Dr Aldrin Marak (DIET – Resubelpara) who spoke at length on the situation being faced by students while encouraging them to open up if they faced similar situations so that help could be extended.
The program also saw the attendance of Samar Dey, Joint Director – DSEL – EGH and in-charge of the office of the DSEO – NGH.
Dey hoped, through the program that students would be sensitized and untoward incidents related to exam stress could be minimised.
