FKJGP Umling Circle win 1st Inter-Circle tourney

Nongpoh, April 26: FKJGP Umling Circle emerged champions of the the 1st Inter-Circle Football Knockout Tournament, in a closely fought encounter on Saturday.
The tournament organised exclusively for members of the Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) from different Circles within Ri Bhoi, concluded on Saturday with a thrilling final at the NSCA Mini Stadium, Pahamsyiem.
The tournament was organised by the FKJGP North Khasi Hills District.
The championship match featured FKJGP Umling Circle against FKJGP Umden Circle.
FKJGP Umling Circle seized an early advantage, scoring two goals, while FKJGP Umden Circle managed to pull one back before halftime.
Despite intense action in the second half, neither side could find the net again, sealing a 2–1 victory for FKJGP Umling Circle.
As champions, FKJGP Umling Circle walked away with a cash prize of Rs 20,000 and a trophy, while runners-up FKJGP Umden Circle received Rs 10,000 and a trophy.
Individual honours were also presented during the ceremony.
Pynsa Umsong from FKJGP Byrnihat Circle was named Player of the Tournament, while Hehbok Rani from FKJGP Umling Circle was adjudged Best Goalkeeper of the tournament.
The closing ceremony was graced by FKJGP Central Body President Dundee Cliff Khongsit as the chief guest. Khongsit was accompanied by Vice President of the Central Body Kitboklang Nongphlang, President of the North Khasi Hills District Unit Luistar Lyngdoh, General Secretary Ricky Majaw, along with village leaders of Pahamsyiem and other dignitaries.
