Assault
Baldeep Singh lodged a complaint that on May 16 evening, two persons viz., Suraj Balmiki and Lakbhir Singh assaulted him near Sagar Dhaba Opposite Anjalee Parking Lot, Shillong, causing injuries to him.

Vehicles stolen
Sapan Barman lodged a complaint that miscreant(s) stole his scooter (ML-08J-6912) which was parked on the roadside at Nakham Bazar, Tura, West Garo Hills, on May 19.
Changrak Ch Marak lodged a complaint that his motorcycle (AS-18K-7566), which was parked near his residence at Allotgre, Tura, West Garo Hills, was found missing.
Melinda Ch Marak lodged a complaint that on May 17 around 5 am, her Maruti Gypsy (ML-08K-3239) was found missing from Spring Hills, Tura, West Garo Hills.

Drugs seized
On May 19, acting on inputs, police intercepted a vehicle (AS-16A-3375) with one occupant identified as Elizer G Momin (25) at Araimile, Tura, West Garo Hills, and recovered 1.42 grams of suspected heroin from his possession. Later, the police also apprehended one Toseng R Sangma (24), an alleged accomplice/financer for procuring the contraband substances of Elizer G Momin from Garobadha market in West Garo Hills.

Jewelry shop robbery
Kanhaiya Jee Soni lodged a complaint that on May 20, around 7.30 am, miscreant(s) broke into a jewelry shop belonging to his sister Gayatri Devi at New Bhaitbari in West Garo Hills and stole 5 carats of jewelries, silver weighing around 3.5 kg and Rs 35,000 in cash.

Credit card scam
A female resident of a locality in Eastern West Khasi Hills lodged a complaint that on April 23, she received an anonymous phone call claiming to be a representative of SBI and convinced her to share the OTP, reportedly for the purpose of verification, to which she complied. Following this, she received a series of transaction alert messages and learnt that Rs 93,000 was fraudulently transacted from her credit card. One week later, the complaint also received SMS alert for EMI payment.

Booking fraud
A woman from Gujarat lodged a complaint that on May 18, she booked a hotel room through “www.hotelin shilling.com” and made a payment of Rs 32,760 to Midtown Hospitality India. However, later she found that the website was fake.
