SHILLONG, May 26: The overall pass percentage Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Examination 2025, after the supplementary exam results, has climbed to 96.02%.
According to the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBoSE), 5,678 out of 7,066 candidates cleared the supplementary SSLC examination, marking a pass rate of 80.35%. The results were officially declared on Monday.
What makes this development notable is that the supplementary examination was conducted for the first time since 1993. The reintroduction of the supplementary exam has offered students a renewed opportunity to complete their secondary education without losing a year.
While the main SSLC examination recorded a pass percentage of 87.10%, the inclusion of supplementary exam results pushed the overall figure to an unprecedented 96.02%.
“This successful reintroduction after more than three decades reflects not only the system’s preparedness but also the dedication of all stakeholders,” said TR Laloo, the Controller of Examinations, MBoSE.
Students of Garo Hills performed particularly well. Of the region’s 4,836 students who appeared for the supplementary exam, 3,710 passed, to record a success rate of 76.71%.
South Garo Hills continued to lead the way in terms of pass percentage, with 85.58% of the students sailing through.
