City nurse receives award for healthcare leadership

SHILLONG, June 7: The Association of Nurse Executives India (ANEI) has awarded Rikadeisuk Suting, a Quality Nurse at Supercare Hospital, with the prestigious Young Leader Award (YLA) 2025, in recognition of her exceptional leadership in patient safety, quality improvement and community nursing.
According to a statement here, the award was presented during ANEICON 2025, ANEI’s national conference held at the Lulu Bolgatty International Convention Hall, Grand Hyatt Kochi, Kerala, on May 30.
The event was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Government of Kerala, Dr. Rajan N. Khobragade, as the chief guest.
“Ms. Suting was recognised for her commitment to evidence-based nursing practices and for spearheading initiatives that have led to significant improvements in patient care at Supercare Hospital. She is known for her innovative approach to healthcare delivery and her dedication to improving systems with compassion and impact,” the statement said.
“Her work is supported and guided by Ms. Mary B. Lyngdoh, Nursing Superintendent, and Ms. Rikadeilang Paslein, Deputy Nursing Superintendent, whose mentorship and leadership continue to shape the hospital’s nursing excellence,” it added.
Meanwhile, Supercare Hospital Managing Director Dr. RS Thangkhiew has expressed his happiness at Suting’s achievement.
“This recognition is not only a personal achievement for Ms. Suting but also a celebration of the nursing community’s spirit and its vital contribution to healthcare—especially in the Northeast region, where such leadership is shaping the future of transformative, high-quality care,” said Dr. Thangkhiew said.
