Bureaucratic reshuffle in state

SHILLONG, June 16: The state government has implemented a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, with several departments being reorganised.
Pravin Bakshi, Commissioner & Secretary of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Public Health Engineering, Forest & Environment, etc., has been relieved of his duties as Commissioner & Secretary of Forest & Environment Department.
CVD Diengdoh, Commissioner & Secretary of Personnel & A.R. etc., Departments and Director of Tourism, will also function as Commissioner & Secretary of Meghalaya, Water Resources Department, Executive Director of Meghalaya Basin Management Agency, and Additional Project Director of the KfW funded Protection of Vulnerable Catchment areas in Meghalaya Project. Diengdoh has been relieved of his duties as Director, Tourism.
SC Sadhu, Secretary of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Water Resources etc., will also function as Secretary of Forest & Environment Department. He has been relieved of his functions as Secretary of Water Resources Department.
R. Chitturi, Additional Secretary of Finance Department etc., will function as Additional Secretary of Power Department and Executive Director of Meghalaya Basin Development Authority.
Jagdish Chelani, Commissioner of Taxes etc., will serve as Joint Secretary of Labour and Planning Investment & Sustainable Development Departments, Labour Commissioner and Secretary, Meghalaya, Building & Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board, and Additional Project Director of the ADB funded Supporting Human Capital Development in Meghalaya (Phase-II) Project.
Mitali Chandra, Joint Secretary of Social Welfare Department etc., will serve as Additional Project Director of the ADB funded Meghalaya Early Childhood Development (ECD) Mission Project.
Saloni Verma, Deputy Secretary of Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department & Director, Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs etc., will also function as Deputy Secretary of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Department and Additional Chief Executive Officer of Meghalaya’s Natural and Organic Farming Society for Livelihood and Innovation in Agriculture (MEGNOLIA).
Ibashisha Mawlong, MCS, Labour Commissioner & Secretary, Meghalaya, Building & Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board etc., will be transferred and posted as Chief Inspector of Boilers and Factories.
She will continue to function as Revenue Officer, Indradhanush Gas Grid Ltd.
Saijong K Marak, Joint Secretary of Soil & Water Conservation Department etc., will also function as Secretary, Meghalaya State Information Commission.
Doreena Phawa, Joint Secretary of Home (Police) Department etc., is relieved of her functions as Director, Programme Implementation & Evaluation and also as Secretary, Meghalaya State Information Commission.
Brenda L. Pakyntein, Chief Inspector of Boilers & Factories is transferred and posted as Director, Tourism.
Rezina Ch. Marak, MCS, Joint Secretary of Health & Family Welfare Department will also function as Director, Programme Implementation & Evaluation.
