SHILLONG, June 18: In a bid to promote the use of Hindi in official work, a ‘Hindi Workshop’ was organised for officers and employees at the Conference Room of the Office of the Principal Accountant General (Audit), Meghalaya, Shillong, on Wednesday.
According to a statement here, the workshop commenced with a welcome address by Senior Deputy Accountant General (Admn.), Dhanlaxmi Chourasia, who highlighted the importance of using practical Hindi in government communication.
“The main objective of the Hindi Workshop is to provide practice of practical Hindi used in Government work, so that the officers/employees participating in the workshops can write drafts and noting in Hindi in a basic way. It is a matter of pride for our office that as per the instructions of the Official Language Department, we are organising Hindi Workshop so that the use of Hindi in official work is encouraged and, through the workshop, we can overcome the hesitation of working in Hindi,” Chourasia said.
“Apart from this, we will also be successful in using Official Language Hindi in draft writing, letter writing, etc. Handwriting and correspondence can also be improved through workshops,” she added, expressing hope that all the participants will benefit from the workshop.
