GUWAHATI, June 24: The State Level Recruitment Commission for Class-IV Posts has announced special provisions for candidates from Dima Hasao and Barak Valley districts who were unable to appear for their scheduled interviews for Class-IV posts conducted by State Level Recruitment Commission after landslides disrupted rail communication to Guwahati.
“In the light of information received regarding the recent landslides near Jatinga-Lampur section of National Highway-27, affecting the rail connectivity to Guwahati from Dima Hasao and Barak Valley districts, and considering the bulletin regarding cancellation and rescheduling of trains, special consideration is being extended to the candidates from the affected districts who may be unable to appear for their scheduled interviews for Class-IV posts conducted by State Level Recruitment Commission for Class-IV Posts,” a statement from the commission said,
“To ensure equal opportunity for all candidates impacted by this natural calamity on June 23, 2025, candidates belonging to Dima Hasao and Barak Valley districts will be given an opportunity to appear for the interview on a revised date,” it stated.
“Further details regarding the revised interview schedule will be communicated shortly. Affected candidates are advised to stay updated through the official website of ASSEB (erstwhile SEBA) and daily newspapers,” it stated.
In view of the critical condition, NF Railway had on Tuesday suspended rail services between Lumding-New Haflong-Badarpur portions, resulting in cancellations and short termination of train services over that section.
“On account of boulders along with land mass falling over the railway track in the New Haflong – Jatinga Lampur section owing to improper construction work being undertaken by the NHAI for repairing of road, train services over the Lumding – Badarpur hill section had to be suspended from evening hours of June 23, 2025 in order to ensure safety of railway passengers,” an NFR official said.
