Woman ambushed in her house
Dr Natasha Sangma lodged a complaint that on the evening of June 29, a miscreant emerged from the bedroom of her house at Hopkinson Road, Lachumiere, Shillong, and also attempted to attack her with a hedge shear. However, she managed to escape. Later, she found that the miscreant had stolen gold bracelet and a pair of earrings total valued around Rs 1.5 lakh.
Estranged spouse attacks wife
Iowhok Suchiang lodged a complaint that on June 27, circa 10 pm, her estranged husband viz., Kermi Dkhar, attacked her with a knife in her residence at Thadsning village in West Jaintia Hills. As a result, the woman sustained injuries and was admitted at Civil Hospital Jowai.
Machete attack
Euniwom Dkhar lodged a complaint that on June 29, around 4.45 am, one Bud Biam (73) attacked her brother Rijonki Dkhar with a machete at Sahsniang A village under Raliang PS in West Jaintia Hills. As a result, the victim sustained grievous injuries and was admitted at a hospital. Police arrested the accused.
Two-wheelers stolen
Renaldy Budlang Jyrwa lodged a complaint that on June 29 morning, miscreant(s) stole his scooter (ML-05V-5513) from his residential compound at Umpling Dongshaneng.
Bethniton Sangma lodged a complaint that on July 10 morning, miscreant(s) stole his motorcycle (ML-08K-1676) from Mawdiangdiang, Shillong.
Two hurt in brawl
On June 29, an altercation occurred between a local taxi driver, Sanderang Kharbuki (23), and four other individuals — Bakyrahanlang Khongsit (25), Ialambha Nongkynrih (20), Mariawan Nongbri (22) and Freddy Kharbamon (29) — at Demseiñïong, Shillong. However, two of them sustained minor injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital, Shillong, for medical examination.
Borrowed money unpaid
Walseng Ch Marak lodged a complaint that on January 27, 2025, one Cryster Ch Marak borrowed Rs 1.07 lakh from the complainant and promised to repay by March 1. However, the person has failed to do so.
