Life terms for 2 in POCSO case

SHILLONG, July 16: The Special Judge (POCSO) of West Khasi Hills, Nongstoin, has convicted two persons — Mebanlang Warjri and Tony Paul Basaiawmoit — and sentenced them to life imprisonment while imposing a fine of Rs 50,000 each on both under Sections 5(g) and 6 of the POCSO Act.
The case dates back to May, 2017, when an FIR was filed against the two at Mairang police station for sexually assaulting a minor victim. The case was investigated by WPSI DP Nongbri.
