TURA, July 18: The ADIL from Baghmara in South Garo Hills has raised concerns over the poor construction of the Captain Williamson Memorial Government College in the district and has urged the concerned authorities to look into the matter.
According to the organisation, the project, valued at Rs 7 crore, is yet to become operational but is already showing visible signs of damage, including cracks throughout the entire building. A visit to the project site by the organisation revealed potential hazards for future students and faculty.
“Which contractor was assigned the project and how did authorities approve such standards of construction?” it questioned.
Calling on the concerned authorities to take immediate and appropriate action to investigate the matter and hold those responsible accountable, the organisation has sought that the building be reconstructed or reinforced to meet safety norms.
