Sibling fight turns deadly; 17-yr-old kills elder brother in Tura

TURA, July 26: In an incident that will send chills to even the most strong-hearted, a 17-year-old younger brother, under the influence of alcohol, killed his elder sibling in a fit of rage during an argument, with an axe.
The 17-year-old is a resident of the Deran Gittim, Chitoktak locality in the town of Tura.
The incident occurred on Friday.
As per reports, the 17-year-old, in an inebriated state, began an argument with his mother and others during which he struck his elder brother, identified as Jekil M Sangma, with an axe leading to grievous injuries.
The victim was immediately shifted to Tura Civil Hospital for treatment where he was declared brought dead.
Following the incident, the younger brother fled from the scene the same night but was later produced by family members at the Chandmary Beat House on Saturday morning.
