LONDON, Aug 18: Four Indian-origin men appeared before Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, charged with violent disorder, wounding, and possession of an offensive weapon following an armed attack in Bilston, Wolverhampton.
The accused — Hardeep Singh (28) from Hounslow, Harpeet Singh (25) from Leicester, Mukesh Kumar (30) from Wolverhampton, and Lakwinder Singh (26) from Smethwick — were arrested after a violent incident involving bladed weapons on Arbour Drive on Friday morning, according to West Midlands Police.
The attack left three people injured, though their wounds were not life-threatening. Two additional individuals were also arrested but have since been released on bail as investigations continue.
During the ongoing inquiry, police recovered a firearm at the scene, prompting further investigation into its origin and potential connection to the incident. Officers have increased patrols in the area but are treating the violence as an isolated incident.
Police are urging the public to come forward with any information that may assist in the investigation. Local media reported the incident involved a car being deliberately rammed, possibly targeting individuals inside.
The case highlights growing concerns over violent street-level disputes involving weapons in parts of the UK. (PTI)
