Blood donation

Two separate blood donation camps were held under the initiative of two city colleges — St. Mary’s College and Shillong Commerce College. Shillong Commerce College’s Red Ribbon Club in collaboration with the college’s NSS Unit and NEIGRIHMS on Monday organised a blood donation as well as awareness programme. The session on awareness was presented by Dr Lutika Nepram, CMO, Blood Centre NEIGRIHMS. After the programme, the college organised a blood donation drive which drew participation from both the staff as well as students.
The NSS unit of St. Mary’s College’s Department of Political Science and History in collaboration with the Pasteur Institute organised a blood donation camp-cum-awareness programme on Friday in the College Campus. A sensitisation session for 200 student participants was presented by Dr BS Nongkynrih, Specialist in Pharmacology. Around 45 volunteers came forward to voluntarily donate blood.

Road curbs

In partial modification of previous notice dated September 17,2025, the movement of goods and boulder-laden trucks from Lad-Umsyiem to Dawki bridge will remain restricted until restoration work at the site is completed and the road is declared safe for plying of such vehicles, the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (C), Pynursla Civil Sub-Division, informed the general public in a statement issued here on Monday. It further sought the cooperation of all transporters and commuters.
