1 arrested in ANTF raid in SWGH

Ampati, Oct 11: Carrying on the fight against the drug menace in the state, based on source information, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of South West Garo Hills conducted a search operation at a motor parts and hardware shop in the Mirzumla area under Monabari Police Station that led to the arrest of one person.
The arrested person was identified as Md. Safik Alom (35), a resident of Mohontapara, Mankachar, Assam, was apprehended.
During the search, the ANTF team recovered four packets of orange-coloured tablets (suspected to be Yaba tablets), totaling 584 tablets weighing 65.37 grams, along with a mobile phone from his possession.
All legal formalities under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act were duly complied with, and the seized items were taken into custody. “Further investigation is being carried out to ascertain the source and network involved in the illegal trafficking of narcotic substances,” stated SWGH SP Vikash Verma.
