SHILLONG, Oct 11: More than 500 NCC cadets from all districts of Meghalaya joined the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Meghalaya Festival 2025, organised here on Friday and Saturday.
The celebration themed ‘From Cloud to Courage – Meghalaya NCC Cadets Rise’was organised by 2 Meghalaya Battalion NCC on behalf of the NCC Group Headquarters, Shillong, in collaboration with St Anthony’s College.
The two-day grand event brought together cadets from across the state to take part in a celebration of unity, discipline, and vibrant youth energy.
The festival culminated on Saturday with a vibrant closing ceremony graced by Minister of Education Lahkmen Rymbui as the chief guest.
Over the course of the event, the NCC cadets showcased their brilliant talents and leadership qualities through spirited conduct as event organisers and active participation in a wide range of competitions.
These included debate, singing, dancing, a quiz, and an impromptu fashion show. The cadets exhibited remarkable enthusiasm, unity, discipline, and a strong sense of camaraderie, reflecting the core values of the NCC.
The festival not only provided a platform to encourage innovativeness, creativity, and talent amongst the cadets but also to instil values of teamwork, leadership, and service to the nation. It also served as a testament to the growing spirit of nationalism and responsibility among the youth of Meghalaya. The competitive spirit of such events also aids in channelising the young minds towards positive thinking while diverting the youth from the evils of criminal activities & drug menace.
The NCC Meghalaya Festival 2025 is a shining example of how structured youth programmes can empower the next generation and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
