12-hour water supply shutdown in city on Oct 23

SHILLONG, Oct 21: The Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department has announced a 12-hour shutdown of water supply to Shillong and its adjoining areas on Thursday to facilitate repair work on the Pumping Main of the Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme.
According to a notice issued by the Chief Engineer, PHE, the shutdown will be in effect from 9 AM to 9 PM on Thursday. During this period, there will be no water supply to the city and surrounding localities. The department said that all efforts will be made to restore normal supply at the earliest once the repair work is completed.
Expressing regret, Chief Engineer, SR Nongbri, has sought public cooperation during the shutdown period.
