SHILLONG, Oct 22: Don Bosco Youth Centre, Shillong, Director, Fr. Michel Makri, presented a sewing machine to Sinora Khongshei, a trainee who successfully completed her course in tailoring and embroidery, in recognition of her dedication, performance and potential to build a sustainable livelihood.
According to a statement here, the initiative forms part of the centre’s ongoing mission to empower young people through skill-based and vocational training.
“Don Bosco Youth Centre regularly supports deserving and outstanding trainees who complete various skill-based programs, including computer literacy, laptop operation, tailoring, embroidery, and other vocational courses,” the statement said.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Fr. Makri said that the recognition was based on the trainer’s assessment of Khongshei’s performance and diligence.
